Jointless Industrial Floor Design & Analysis

Design analysis for large industrial floors under heavy loads, forklift traffic, AGV operations and demanding service conditions.

Back to Home

Engineering is the first service BICP provides on any international project. It is scoped and delivered independently of any product supply.

Free preliminary review

Preliminary Project Review

Feasibility, concept or early design, before the floor is fixed by the structural package.

What you provide
  • Project type, location and approximate floor area
  • Racking and equipment layout if available
  • Known loads: rack legs, forklifts, AGV / AMR fleet
  • Existing floor design or specification, if one exists
What you receive
  • A written first assessment of the main floor risks
  • Which design route is worth analysing: conventional jointed, joint-reduced or jointless
  • The parameters BICP would need for a detailed analysis
Next step
If the project justifies it, the detailed engineering analysis is proposed as a separate scoped service.

Independent paid service

Detailed Engineering Analysis

Concept to detailed design, in coordination with the local design team and the engineer of record.

What you provide
  • Geotechnical report and subgrade / subbase data
  • Structural layout, slab support conditions and construction sequence
  • Full load schedule: racks, wheel loads, point loads, AGV routes
  • Operating conditions: temperature, flatness class, cleanliness, traffic frequency
What you receive
  • Slab system comparison with a recommended route
  • Slab thickness, concrete and reinforcement or post-tensioning strategy
  • Crack-risk assessment for shrinkage, temperature and restraint
  • Joint layout with construction and functional joints only where required
  • Technical-economic comparison where alternatives are close
Next step
Results are delivered as technical inputs for the local design team and the engineer of record.

Independent paid service

Floor System Optimisation

Whenever the slab system itself is still open: new build, extension or replacement floor.

What you provide
  • Column grid, slab support and building envelope
  • Long-term operating plan and layout flexibility needs
  • Local material availability and contractor capability
What you receive
  • Structural system selection for the floor: ground-bearing, post-tensioned or suspended options
  • Large-panel and jointless concepts with their conditions and limits
  • Durability and lifecycle considerations that affect the choice
Next step
Feeds directly into the detailed analysis or into the local design package.

Independent paid service

Joint & Detail Engineering

Detailed design and pre-construction, once the joint layout is agreed.

What you provide
  • Agreed joint layout and panel sizes
  • Door, dock and loading-bay positions
  • Traffic types crossing each joint
What you receive
  • Detailing of the construction and functional joints that must remain
  • Load-transfer and edge-protection requirements per joint type
  • Doorway, loading-bay and high-impact area details
  • Specification inputs for armoured joint systems where they are justified
Next step
Where an armoured joint is specified, supply can be quoted separately through SHENTE.

What the analysis covers

Technical consulting here means the whole floor system, not joint selection alone. Depending on the project the analysis addresses:

  1. Industrial floor structural system selection
  2. Slab thickness analysis
  3. Subgrade / subbase condition assessment
  4. Concrete and reinforcement strategy
  5. Post-tensioned floor option
  6. Large-panel / jointless floor design concept
  7. Shrinkage and temperature effects
  8. Rack loads
  9. Forklift wheel loads
  10. AGV / AMR operating conditions
  11. Heavy-duty traffic areas
  12. Cold-storage floor conditions
  13. Cracking risk
  14. Floor joints and construction joints
  15. Doorway / loading bay / high-impact areas
  16. Durability and lifecycle considerations
  17. Technical-economic comparison where applicable

Two independent service layers

Engineering by BICP

Engineering and technical consulting are provided as an independent professional service with its own scope and fee. The preliminary review is free; detailed analysis, system optimisation and joint engineering are quoted per project.

Manufactured & Supplied by SHENTE

Product supply of armoured joint systems is a separate commercial layer, manufactured and supplied by SHENTE only where the engineering analysis shows that joints must remain and an armoured joint is justified.

Submit your project for a preliminary review

Send the project type, location, floor area, loads and the issue you most want to resolve. The preliminary review is free; you will receive a written first assessment and the parameters needed for a detailed analysis.
