Joint systems
An armoured joint protects the concrete edge at a construction or functional joint, transfers load between the two slabs and lets the joint open as the slab shrinks. It is used only where an engineering analysis shows that a joint must remain.

Plate or bar load-transfer elements make the two slab edges deflect together under a wheel, which removes the step and the rocking that destroy joints and vehicles alike.
The system is designed to open as the slab shrinks and, in cold stores, contracts with temperature, while still transferring load across the widened gap.
